• Do I need to bring anything specific if I'm going hiking?

  You most certainly do. You'll want to wear sturdy shoes and make sure to carry (and drink) a lot of water. In addition, you should get a map and figure out your route ahead of time. As for clothing, you'll need layers as the weather can vary. And don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen when it's warm.

• Will I get altitude sickness?

  It's not uncommon to be affected by the change in elevation. When you're at the Visitor Center, you'll be at 5,400 feet (1,646 meters) while the top of Sugarloaf Mountain is 7,310 feet (2,228 meters). Be aware of the signs of altitude sickness, which include nausea, headache, tiredness, and shortness of breath.
